Reg Barber Titanium Tamper - 2007/05/24 12:54 I have a limited edition Reg Barber Titanium Tamper - #1 of 10... ever made.

It is a 58MM and incredibly light.

Going to list it on here for about 3-4 weeks and then toss it on Ebay.

Offers?

Re:Reg Barber Titanium Tamper - 2008/11/27 20:26 Hi Colin;
Long time no chat. Part one of the guide is good. We need the basic stuff. I still love my Silvia Rocky combo but every so often I use the Aeropress which still gives a great cup of coffee and unlike the Silvia the Aeropress is the same every time.

Still haven't mastered the Silvia single shot. I don't think the two step design allows for an even tamp. What is your opinion on that?

Oh yeah - have a nice holiday in Hawaii.

best regards,
bert

Re:Reg Barber Titanium Tamper - 2008/11/28 10:26 So it's not for sale then??

Re:Reg Barber Titanium Tamper - 2008/11/28 10:44 Everything is for sale my friend - with the right price.

How would you price a tamper made out of a solid slab of pure titanium anyway?

I think they were selling for about 200-300 a piece when they were on EBay.

Like I say - I have the #1 tamper and there is no sensible reason to part with it.

Re:Reg Barber Titanium Tamper - 2008/12/03 14:37 I may be interested and I am in town, no less. I was thinking of popping by to see Reg but... What kind of $ are we talking about here? Fifties...Hundreds...

Re:Reg Barber Titanium Tamper - 2008/12/03 15:30 You should pop by Reg and have him whip you up something custom and colorful -

My Titanium tamper is a 58MM with a Rosewood handle - other than the fact that it wears less than a feather and has some rarity chic, I would not expect more than 300$ for it.

That said - I have a medium-large collection of tampers and there is no reason to see this one.

I actually use it from time to time.

Re:Reg Barber Titanium Tamper - 2008/12/04 09:32 Actually and although I don't doubt the pretiness of your tamper, if you are tamping something, thus exercising pressure you really want something that weighs as much as possible to have a good feeling of the pressure that you are imposing.
By comparison. you can use a 6oz hammer on a 3p nail but 16oz is so much better.
