Milano steps it up! - 2008/11/16 12:39 Hey Coffee Crew, Jeremy blumel here. I was just visiting Brian at Milano coffe, of Turks fame, in their currently being refurbished digs on 8th and Columbia. They're setting up to be Vancouver's first Espresso tasting lounge and cafe. I think they're having a grand opening in two weeks and the new Bar they've installed is INSANE! Anyone have any opinions on their coffee or their space? Seems like the owner, Brian, is incredibly knowledgeable. Jeremy

And the Elysian Room, JJ Bean or 49th Parallel are not espresso tasting lounges too?

Looking fwd to this newbie.

Re:Milano steps it up! - 2008/11/17 18:42 Milano claims one of the only 11 bean blends for espresso. Colin, any tasting thoughts on their beans? The opening claims live music and 7 different blends to taste from 3 full bars running! The machine they have now, newly installed is a company that was resurrected by LaCimballi and hasn't exported to North America in 50 odd years. Cool hey? I bought 2 bags for my isomac Venus and Rocky grinder, excited to see what I'll be able to get out of this new blend. Jer
