La Spaziale Vivaldi - 2006/07/14 22:05
First time post, long time reader:
I was recently visiting Seattle when I had a chance to catch up with an old friend who after some good conversation, happened to mention to me that he had recently purchased a La Spaziale Vivaldi espresso machine and he swore that it was the finest peice of home espresso equipment on the planet. Considering the fact that he has always thought highly of himself and his toys, I didn't think too much about his rant until he pursuaded me to stop by his condo and see for myself. This opportunity was not to be missed as I love both seeing this friend pull his foot out of his mouth as well as good espresso; so off to belletown we went. Within ten minutes I was in shock, that a machine like this was considered a home machine as it poured velvet espresso shot after shot (Vivace Vita - no less). Have you ever considered writing a review on this machine because I think if known about, more people in this part of the world may consider this machine, even though the price tag is somewhat heavty (around $3500.00) Let me know your thoughts

I am familiar with the manufacturer - and I have access to the local dealership - that said, this is a little high-end for my core readership. Truth be told - anyone with money can drop three to five bones on a machine that really belongs in a cafe.
We do not cater to those people.
We cater to the regular folk that spend 500 - 700$ on good, solid, basic pump powered espresso makers.
Thanks for the suggestions though,

Thanks for the response Colin; who is the local dealership and where are they located? I was looking online at the La Spaziale website and they only list Victoria and Vancouver as service areas, no names. I know the machine may be a little rich for the blood but when you consider how much money we spend at our local cafes in a year, the price is really not that out of line. I do not have many true espresso shops in my neighborhood and over the last few years since we moved here, my espresso cravings have been growing. If you could help me with this request, I would be very grateful.
Thanks
