Loose knob (reposted from article comment) - 2006/07/19 15:42 I inherited my Atomic from my mom. After years of loyal service, the big black knob has become loose. It doesn’t hold in the body anymore. What can I do?

Thank you.

Re:Loose knob (reposted from article comment) - 2006/08/17 03:12 Get a new one from Bon. Erosion of the threads is caused by the slight difference of aluminum between the knob and the main body. You should NEVER leave it on between uses. Just like rust, electric erosion never stops. You can also have a stainless insert installed . Check our photo archives. I do that right here on the South shore of Montreal, if you bring it over. Frederick Nakos is the Global authority on the Atomic Espresso Coffee maker.

Re:Loose knob (reposted from article comment) - 2006/12/07 12:39 Hey Frederick,

I am a proud owner of an Atomic Brevetti Robbiati. I've been a fan of stove tops ever since I started drinking coffee and I finally have the ultimate stove top. Now I need to make sure it's all clean and perfect before I use it. (Any tips in keeping clean or washing after everyday use?)

My question is, how can I figure out what the filler knob screw is made out of? I believe you once said something about an improvement with German silver and with this the knob doesn't get stuck!!
Also, what’s the best way to incorporate the steel insert?
Is it possible for me to order it from you or someone and install it myself?

Anyways, I still have loads to learn about the Atomic and being a budding innovator I might try and design some additional improvements!! Believe it or not, I had a dream about the Atomic before I knew about it. Wow, what a perfect design!!

Cheers,
Aashish

Required reading in many Australian Universities I will have you know!

They had to read it all - and so do you.

So scoot! Start reading.
