won't heat up - 2005/08/16 23:34 i have a krups 950 pump capuccino machine much like the saeco vienna series. the "water is hot" light never stops flashing i suppose because the water is not heating up ( i got water from the steam wand that isn't hot). any info on how to replace the heating element?

Would you say that the water is cold or warm?

the water is definitely cold. maybe a fuse has blown and not a problem with the element. i'm wondering how to get the machine apart to check the fuse

Re:won't heat up - 2005/08/17 23:25 Hello to Greg in Nashville (I.P. Lookup!)

Krups generally assembles their product with
secure star-spline screws - which, sadly, unless you
are a certified service dude makes it difficult to
break apart and snoop around.

Often these units are re-packaged swiss or
italian machines like Jura and Capresso.

Do tell - what can you tell me about the hardware
that holds it all together?

Re:won't heat up - 2005/08/18 02:33 Hi Colin, Thanks for your interest in my problem. Actually I'm not seeing a lot of screws. There are 2 phillips in the grinding chamber, 3 phillips behind the brew group, 2 phillips on the roof of the brew group area 1 if which is attached to a case on the left side of the brew group area and also has a slotted screw that looks like it is for adjusting something. I say this because it is not flush like the other screws, it sticks out above the surface of the case. I don't know if this forum allows it but I could send you some digital pix if you think it would be helpful. Thanks, Gregg.

Re:won't heat up - 2005/08/22 15:54 I have a broken coffee bean hopper. Why don't you sell me yours for parts and I will fix mine OR buy mine and fix yours. $30 plus shipping sounds about right. Wanna sell or buy?
