Re:What is this unit? - 2006/08/01 09:22 Greetings to Atomic Girl in Auckland New Zealand!

Hmmm - a front view would be more helpful.
It is like trying to ID someone from the back of their
head - if you know what I mean.

Re:What is this unit? - 2006/08/01 11:48 I may be a newbie, with no karma as yet, but I would certainly ask the seller for a picture of the OTHER side, where someone might be able to tell the manufacturer. My guess would be it's a Modern Espresso Model One. Sorry....if they don't want to show you the "works" then I would move on. This is from online auction experience. Not good. Cheers!

Apologies to Atomic Girl for getting off topic, but Scott, what is the machine pictured in your post (the one that looks like an giant eightball with a portafilter)?

Re:What is this unit? - 2006/08/02 16:23 Robb,
You know, I can't remember, all I know is I was surfing some sites and saw this eight-ball machine and wondered how it would work. I'll try and find the site. Seems to me that it would not use brass components or have a large boiler. "One-Shot Shopping"

Re:What is this unit? - 2006/08/02 16:34 Here's the link to the website, it's an Italian site, and the machine comes in 'three designer colours'.

It's the Ariete site but I don't know if it's an Ariete machine. It's called the "You And Me"...probably because it makes enough espresso for just, well, you and one other person.
Cheers!
