About Java Joes - 2006/10/17 16:59 I just wanted to say that me and my hubby went to Java Joes today and it was the worst coffee we ever had. We went to the one in southern california in the city of Yorba Linda. I got a hazelnut latte that didn't have any foam at all and it tasted like weak coffee with just a little hazelnut in it. He got a cappucinno that was bad also. We did find a great coffee place called Peets Coffee & Tea. We've been there alot. We thought Java Joes was gonna be great also but we were wrong and will never go there again. So don't waste your money on this place guys and gals. Peets is much better.

Re:About Java Joes - 2006/10/17 20:45 I had a business trip to Los Angeles in 1997.

I had heard about Peet's so I went out of my way
and into Pasadena to go to a Peet's.

It was like coming home.
It was awesome coffee.

I was in Portland, Oregon a week after 9/11 and
sat in the window at a Peet's watching the World
go by and having a conversation with a complete
stranger - it was amazing.

Whenever I am in the U.S. now (which is not very often), I always make time for a Peet's moment.

Re:About Java Joes - 2006/10/19 19:24 Peets is a great find. We go there at least twice a week or more depending on our schedules.

Re:About Java Joes - Peets - 2006/10/20 10:48 I usually get Major Dickasons if I can -- The last bag I got (about a year ago) was a shadow of the former Major Dicks. I mean, it did not taste right.

Peet's coffee has a kinds of Earthy, smoky, in your face kind of flavor on many of the blends.
Major Dicks is one of the best examples of this.
This bag that I got must have been mislabeled - it was under-roasted and bland.

Maybe someone can send me some Peet's direct from one of their California based cafes - so I can be set straight on this.
