Dissapointed in Montreal - 2006/12/13 14:38 So I have two atomic coffee makers!

One is labeled "Atomic Brev(some thing uninteligeble) Robbiati Milano made in italy"

And the other one is at the Faema coffee shop.

Now my mother has used one of the other to brew to cups of coffee for herself everyday for the past 30years and they have not been privy to the most love in the world frankly a bit of abuse.

So heres are the problems.

- The rod that goes through the coffee holder has lost its griper (the ball on the end it cracked and fell off)

- The coffee jug handle was melted or cracked theres a big piece missing and everytime I see her pick it up I really expect there to be a big puddle of coffee on the floor.

- Lastly it needs a bad cleaning. Its dingy and doesn't shine the way I think it should

So I braught it to the Faema coffee shop in little italy since I believe that is where it was purchased many years ago. But they are giving me a hard time I called a few times but they just kinda dick me around saying the experts not in, I wonder if he works there any more. I think I'm just gonna go get the thing back from them.

So umm yeah any chase I can find local parts in Montreal or better yet someone who can service it.

The red ball you will find at Bon Trading in Woolahra. Look in Atomica for their address. But you don't need that rod at all. Store it in a drawer, the swollen coffee grinds provide ample pressure. That rod idea comes from Mr. Cara in San Francisco. Bad, stupid idea, just like that blank plate that came later on. You know, perfection does exist. The Atomic became perfect in the early sixties. Only one person continued to sell the perfected article: Irene from Bon, I lift my hat to her. A few tried to make it better: they failed. Robbiati had achieved the ultimate stovetop. Non better since!
Faema can provide a top seal though. Coffee jug handle. No problem at all. Bon Trading or from me, the Atomic guy (I have been called other names, Guru is one of them, the Man, is another). Search for my address. The coffee jug handle melted or cracked because some lazy, I was going to say bastard, but I won't, used the jug as a cooking utensil. It isn't. That's why so many jugs get lost. Makes me busy though.....As for the shine, don't be afraid to use an S.O.S pad, with elbow grease. You'll be surprised what a little hard work can do. Thanks for the advice I will be contanting Bon Trading once its a more reasonable hour in Australia to see about getting the rod and ball replaced. My moms got that machine figured out to a science and I really doubt that telling her the experts say not to use the rod will sway her, so its probably best just to get one in good condition so she can stop using pliers on it.

You mentioned in some of the other threads that you made some of the jugs? Would it be possible to buy one directly from you? You'll have to excuse me fred but I don't seem to be able to find you e-mail address anywhere.

The red ball for the brass rod is the same as the frother control red ball. So Bon does carry it. As for the rod....you have noticed that it is almost impossible to remove after the frothing exercise. This is because the holder has expanded with the heat and now grips the tapered rod firmly, because the tapered hole is now smaller....antway, I doubt that Irene would have it in stock. She told me umptieth times that she always refused selling the Atomics with that rod. You will find many BON TRADING labeled Atomics on e bay, none have the rod. Show your mom the film that is in these pages, she will be convinced. Frederick Nakos is the Global authority on the Atomic Espresso Coffee maker.

Re:Dissapointed in Montreal - 2008/06/25 07:43 My sister just gave me and old brown Atomic Robbieti Milano. I want to know if I could found (in Montreal) a place to paint this one in orange and replace some element if necessary. For the moment, Atomic gave me good coffee.
