Illy and Le Meridian Hotels. - 2007/01/30 18:55 I wrote out a long query and I have lost it
Start again.
Has anyone heard of Le Meridian Hotels? They are a chain that serves Illy coffee and have set up a place where writers send fifty-word stories that are printed on cards and issued to coffee customers.
I have submitted six stories and they may be published on Feb 1st on the Le Meridian site.
Illy is a new name to me although I am used to coffee served cold and chunky on Canadian Navy vessels (22 years). I retired in 1980 and drink brewed coffee I grind myself from the grocery stores.
I just wondered if this is of interest.
Cheers,
QBall.

Re:Illy and Le Meridian Hotels. - 2007/01/31 15:02 Everything coffee-related is of interest here... Starbucks was doing this for a while; printing witty and cryptic little sayings on coffee cups...

until someone was offended...
and there is always someone out there waiting to be offended by something...

Re:Illy and Le Meridian Hotels. - 2007/01/31 18:17 Although there is no payment, a writer gains exposure with stories on site at Le Meridien/Illy.
If you are a writer and wide awake drinking coffee, the challenge is to write a complete tale using exactly 50 words (excluding title).
Supposedly 50 words is long enough for a customer to read and digest over a cup of coffee. As you say there is a downside when someone takes a dim view of an article, but everything is screened before publishing..
Thanks for your comment.
