Estro Profi Steaming - 2008/02/02 11:20 My Profi puts water out the steam pipe with the motor on but in normal steam mode puts out a very, very weak stream of steam, not enough to froth. Any ideas?

Re:Estro Profi Steaming - 2008/02/02 18:38 Yes - it needs descaling...

OR - the steam thermostat is defective.

I suspect my first theory.

Re:Estro Profi Steaming - 2008/02/03 09:57 Colin,

Thanks for the quick response. In the meantime I have opened it up to expose the working parts and all looked clean so I'm guessing the descale is the answer. I'll see if I can find the citric acid or, if unable, just bite the bullet and use the commercial Cleancaf (or whatever else is good for the job: I don't know) in order to get it all working again.

One last question. There is a second shorter piece of tubing (shorter than the water supply tube) connected to the pump output T-splitter. The splitter input is from the motor, the main output to the boiler and then this third one. It originally was tape-stuck somewhere but the tape dried out and it was free. It looks like it might have been going to the water inlet hole. What is this, a pressure relief line? And where should its open end terminate?

Thanks again!

Re:Estro Profi Steaming - 2008/02/03 20:38 Any spare tubes or hoses should terminate back in the reservoir. Colin is the Senior editor and creator of the CoffeeCrew.Com Website
