Coffee Storage - 2008/02/18 14:07 I’ve been doing some research and I’ve come up with a lot of different opinions and tactics for storage of roasted coffee beans. I know the adage is that you should only buy what you are going to use in 1-2 weeks however I am not in the general vicinity of a good roaster and I like to buy coffee in the 2lb bags (Usually takes me about a month to consume).

What are some of your opinions on long term (>2 weeks) storage? Also what do you think of the various commercial vacuum container/bags?

Thanks,

Andrew

Re:Coffee Storage - 2008/02/18 15:41 If you are going to store roast whole bean coffee for more than 2 weeks, do what I do:

DOUBLE FREEZER ZIPLOCK BAGS.

I have kept this coffee for upwards of 1 month with no ill effects.

2 months is pushing it.

Open to rebuttal.
