New here - 2008/08/04 21:40 Hello,

I love coffee and have been trying different varieties for years. I am thinking of trying home roasting, but have not taken that leap yet! I am a busy mom of 5.

I have the Saeco Incanto RS and I am not too pleased with it... I will post a question about it in the other topic area. I make my best coffee using the Aeropress. I love it!! Current favorite bean is Sulawesi.

Regards,
Alicia

Re:New here - 2008/08/04 22:02 Mom of 5! My goodness, you do need the coffee! Yes, I LOVE the Aeropress too (I have 3 more left - if there are any Victoria area or Vancouver Island residents that want a freebie)

Looking forward to your postings.

Re:New here - 2008/08/05 13:04 Thanks for your welcome, Colin!

Yes, coffee helps. My two eldest boys are now in college, but still home for the summer. It will be quieter here soon, but I do enjoy the commotion.

We are in California. I have wanted to take a trip to BC sometime. A friend's son is studying physics at UBC. Can't remember if the university is in/near Victoria.

Regards,
Alicia

BTW, We live right near Stanford where the inventor of the Aeropress works. It is funny that not many people around here know about it, but I have found that I can make 2 good and quick coffees for my husband and me and I am thinking about putting away my autodrip pot.

Re:New here - 2008/08/05 22:10 UBC is in Vancouver - about 35km away -
Yes. I know where Stanford is - And Alan Adler, the inventor of the Aeropress popped into town about 2 years ago -- and MADE ME COFFEE! Ahahahahaha!
Brought his beautiful wife and grand-daughter with him - we all went out for dinner... and ice cream.

Alan has to be, without question, the coolest man in the coffee World! He is a 60-something dude with the inquisitive nature of a 10 year old Albert Einstein with a chemistry set.

Very cool dude.

Yup - you have to love the ease of the Aeropress.
