Re:Poll results discussion - 2008/07/17 20:02 I have to stop you there:
There is no top cafe and the poll did not establish that. It was a "vote" contest and it was also an opportunity for other cafes to exercise their "who gives a rats ass attitude..." or a "who the f*ck does Colin think he is exercise..."

I have to repeat something I said to someone else today:
When I walk into Cafe-X in Victoria and they roll their eyes and sniff "Here comes Colin and his irrelevant and invalid coffee website..." - I think to myself, YES, this gives me an opportunity to really appraise this joint because THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT ME OR MY STUPID website - What they DO care about is making the best damn coffee that they possibly can. So it works.

I love places like this. Funny thing is, the people behind the counter have no idea how relevant I am or how relevant every other customer that has wandered in by mistake is. The problem arises when a cafe starts taking itself too seriously and takes away the ability for the customer to decide his or her fate during that cafe experience.

One such place comes to mind that I will not order a drink from ever again - because they took choice away.

And I won't explain further nor will I out this cafe - because they know who they are.
Anyway - More discussion please!
