Re:There are no Fake Atomics!!! - 2006/09/17 16:10HEY! Enn-Bertos! Guess what? You struck GOLD! Congratulations! Never leave that big bad black knob on between uses. Not even overnight. Clean well under the dispertion plate, olive oil those tiny screws. Change that white seal. That third blank affair is for blocking the coffee, put it in a drawer and forget about it. Ditto for that brass wand, you don't need it at all. The soggen warm grinds give plenty of pressure. Now go light a few candles and thank someone for your good luck. Re:There are no Fake Atomics!!! - 2006/10/11 09:49Actually, I found that the bent brass rod that fits under the coffee holder does a good job of blocking the output and raising the steam pressure .... maybe I'm not using enough coffee to block the output sufficiently, but without the knob inserted the steamer is a bit weak.

Re:There are no Fake Atomics!!! - 2006/10/12 03:26Well there you have it! A solution embedded in a statement. This is correct. That brass rod was not invented by Giordanno. It was proposed to him by an American, Mr. Thomas Cara who distributed the Atomic in San Francisco. No doubt that the grind Thomas used was too coarse. Removing that rod after use is nearly impossible because of the cooled metal contraction. It was never offered in other countries and dear old Irene in Woolahra didn't want anything to do with it. As you can plainly see, that rod is bent, I do possess a few straight ones, the interference betwixt the red knobs is major. Toodle-dee-doo-cracker-bits. To be said outloud, it exercises all the muscles in your mouth.Frederick Nakos is the Global authority on the Atomic Espresso Coffee maker.

Re:Identifying Fake Atomics? - 2006/10/14 10:33Firstly you have to understand that we are not talking about a world take over here hell bent on destroying the evident heart felt popularity of the true original Atomic coffe maker or its world of avid followers and lovers alike. What you are facing here is something that will not last. I innocently purchased a rather large batch of these so called reproductions WITHOUT doing any homework at all (now I wish I had taken the time to look into it properly) and simply paid the money. I purchase a massive variety of items from various countries and this was 'JUST ANOTHER LINE'. Now I am lumbered with these coffee makers. I say lumbered but to be fair they do make good coffee... albeit not as good as a true Atomic, which I know now having looked into it and purchased the real thing. So.......
As far as I know I am the only one with a large batch of these as another potential buyer in Australia backed away. What I do know is the company that is supplying these is no longer continuing due to poor demand versus manufacturing time, effort and cost. This means once I have got the money back I paid for them it is over. Therefore true stability restored in the coffee world regarding the Atomic. One idea I have is to put a completely different badge on the top with a completely different name ect and sell them off. Don't tell me to put them in the bin as I have 3 children to feed like many of you. I have been vague and impulsive on my purchase I admit but a crook and dishonest I am not. If you have any better ideas let me know as I just want rid of the lot now as the 'resistance' from the true Atomic lovers on this website is too much for me to take. I HAD TO COME CLEAN. I am sorry for buying these and I sincerley hope that the genine market is not damaged by this.

Re:Identifying Fake Atomics? - 2006/10/14 17:20Geeee......duhhhhhh....I don't know what to say..... One thing, this site does not sell anything.
Ebay would be the perfect venue IF advertised correctly with insistance on the word copy. I would simply repeat the whole " confession" and pass them off as Indian made replicas. Truth is such a better policy. Rare these days. Advertise them to the TEE, specify the defects and low spots, do show the filter and other substandard manufacturing tid bits and tell the people the truth: with elbow grease they can be corrected, that includes the wire brushed inside of the jug.Can't do much with the crooked spout though or the frother that won't let anything between it and the neck... Heck, I do a perfect job making those replica jugs in a woodworking shop, so I wonder about the age of the people doing the ones for the fake. Put a buy it now price to cover all costs. Do what you can, but PLEASE don't use iffy and serpentine wording to let the buyer think that he/she is buying the real thing. Mistakes happen to everyone. I don't think that you are a crook. Based on all the discussion and reviews, I am looking to buy either the 8 cup or the 12 cup model. Since the physical size of the units (other than the pot, of course) seems to be exactly the same, i...
Since you've posted in the $400 I'd say return the Breville and get a single boiler machine.
In this price range you can easily get an entry level Saeco or Gaggia, or a lesser known name like Moki...

Hi there;
I used this page to calibrate my son's Virtuoso for a finer grind. After the adjustment it would grind so fine that he was able to plug his Saeco Aroma.
