Re:Wet puck! - 2006/12/27 18:32 Yes, this is just how these things work. You get mud in the basket.

I removed all the pressure regulating ragamarole from mine. Recommended - it's easy to do, the machine works better, and you can always put it back in.

Re:Wet puck! - 2006/12/28 13:13 Solved! thx to Colin! all the tricks he give me work #1.

1-always brew with a PF full ( leave 1/4 inch from top of the PF)

2-let de PF 2 or 3 minutes in the machine before remove it.

Re:Wet puck! - 2007/01/06 18:17 Glad you are happy. I would still recommend removing the regulator. Really, it becomes just like any other machine without that in it. The puck is pretty solid in my machine when I have the grind just right.

The purpose the pressure regulation is to make the quality of the brew less dependent on the grind and the tamping pressure. It works but unfortunately what you end up with is always only decent and never exactly right.

Removing it lets me spend a little extra time and trouble on getting the perfect pull.
