weil espresso machine - 2005/08/17 17:14 hi there coffee geeks.

here's the old line: i purchased an espresso machine from the sally ann and it works soooo well. it's a modern looking number of all (heavy) stainless steel, has a small water reservoir column in the back with the brew head sticking out as well as a steam wand that does not swivel.

it's not old because the on/off switch is fairly modern looking.

the name "weil" is embossed into the stainless steel base. and that's it.

i can't find ANYTHING online about WEIL with a connection to coffee and am so curious as to whether anyone else knows anything about it.

i'm in canada, if that helps at all.

cheers from victoria,
seawaterwoman

Re:weil espresso machine - 2005/08/17 23:22 Please do not call us geeks! That title is taken.

I have heard that name and it is a re-packaging of...
multi-chef I think. Do you have a picture?

A picture tells a thousand words... or about 600 words on the Web.

Re:weil espresso machine - 2005/08/18 18:24 hi colin,
yup, i do have a photo... but upon closer inspection, it does say multichef on the embossed W logo in the steel.

how do i send a photos?

and, if it is what you think it is (you're good!), is it a piece of junk or a sweet little find?

cheers,

Re:weil espresso machine - 2006/07/04 12:50 The Multi-chef (Weil) is not really an espresso maker at all - it is a steam powered coffee maker. It makes coffee as strong as most stove-tops.

But it is not an espresso machine.

Needs a pump.

They are getting long in the tooth now and I question their value and useable coffee makers.

Re:weil espresso machine - 2006/07/05 08:52 There are two types of espresso machines - steam driven and pump driven. The Multichef (Weil) is steam driven. I will gladly buy any Weil machine in good working order.
