Francis! Francis! X3 in Canada? - 2005/08/25 21:08
Any suggestions for where I can buy a Francis! Francis! X3 in Canada? Illy Cafe is apparently the North American distributor, but their website specifically states "Shipments can be made within United States only" https://www.illyusa.com/customer_service.html
Illy espresso Canada (infocanada@illycan.com) has ignored my query for 4 weeks.
It shouldn't be this hard to spend money.

Thanks for pointing out that site, but it says on this page that they don't ship to Canada either: http://www.aabreecoffee.com/ordering_info.cfm

A bit of searching comes up with this Canadian source for the X3:

Glenns, thanks for finding a Francis Francis X3 at www.cafeina.ca. Hard to believe that is the only Canadian store selling Francis Francis. Also disconcerting that I get redirected to an Admin system when clicking on their "Home" link.
I also found these sites will ship an X3 to Canada: www.kitchen-universe.com (but the warranty is only good in the U.S.) www.totalhomestore.com (waiting to confirm warranty is valid in Canada).
Search continues...

Wrapping up my search for a Francis Francis X3 ...
www.modernplanet.net sells Francis Francis! machines, and they're based in Victoria, B.C.
www.totalhomestore.com ignored my question about whether the manufacturer warranty would be valid when shipping to Canada.

Wow, keep us up to date on which one you decide to buy from, and ofcourse, how you like the machine.

Yea - I have been to the storefront of this place on Bay Street in Victoria that sells Francis-francis.
Despite the look (it's hot), I have never been a big fan of F-F machines (never used one mind you). They have smaller than usual portafilters and lighter that usual components.
Still, you cannot beat the sex-appeal.
