Attitude... - 2007/06/11 19:04 I shop at both locations of CF and do find the staff generally laid back but also generally polite and courteous. The only "attitude" I've experienced in my almost daily visits is when a high maintenance customer sets someone off. Let's try to remember that these are staff and not partners and I'm sure are not making a wage that makes them super happy that they are there day in and day out serving coffee. As far as I'm concerned, if someone ahead of me is ordering something more out of the ordinary than decaf or stating their milk/soy preference then they might as well go to the Starbucks across the street because they are defeating the beauty of the coffee experience anyway and don't deserve the great beans CF roasts...those people probably eat well-done steak and deep fried seafood as well!

I digress... I guess I have attitude too! My barista experience extends only to being taught how to pull a traditional espresso and steam and froth milk by a real Calabrese Italian When I managed a Wine shop next to an Old-World Restaurant. I knew I had achieved competency when I was asked to make a round of espressos and cappuccinos for Tony, his dad (85 years, non-English speaking) and a few of his friends. No vanilla shots, no half-caff-low-fat-soy...just great coffee!
