Confused ... which machine, where in Toronto? - 2007/10/22 18:59
Great site!
I've been reading through the posts, which have helped, but I'm still confused about which machine I should buy and where to look in Toronto.
I am planning on replacing my daily trip to a fantastic local coffee shop with a machine. This is for a small business environment, so it will probably be used 5-7 times a day. Every day I have a 'bone dry' cappuccino (no milk, all foam) so would like a machine that makes great foam!
I really don't want to spend more than $1500 on the machine and grinder, preferably less. I almost bought a lower end Breville machine before I found this site. What would be my best option and where can I look in the north end of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA)?
Thanks!
Julie

I should add that with the dollar on par, I'd be quite happy to have family travelling to the US next week bring a machine back for me. It looks like the Rancilio Silvia, one machine I'm looking at, is a couple hundred dollars cheaper in the US.

There is Green Beanery in the Annex in Toronto -- and their "store" seems more like a house (I visited it a couple of years back...) Yes - their Silvia seems somewhat over priced at 725 dollars Canadian -- EspressoTec has a better price than that - and YES, using WholeLatteLove.com as a guide, ALL prices in Canada should now be cheaper -- no excuses. Product is moving so fast at ALL the Canadian online stores that there is NO excuse for falsely priced products. If you find that the prices on Canadian sites are more than 15% more than American sites - then something is amiss.

Looks like Green Beanery dropped their Silvia price to $595 with free shipping. The Silvia/Rocky doserless bar with base is now only $904 free shipping. Silvia with Mini Mazzer for $1,074 which is cheaper than Espressotec's Silvia/Rocky doserless combo!!!
