Frothing with the group designed for the wand. - 2007/11/12 05:05 Hi there Peoploïds !

Many times I have received mail asking me to explain how to froth without the wand stuck in the group head.
A bit of history first. Giordanno Robbiati (bless his soul) had a distributor in California, Thomas Cara. This concern still exists. Do not call them, they have NO Atomics. Mr Cara had started to import other coffee makers such as the Pavoni. The Atomic, in all it's glorious simplicity, was still a little ackward in use for the average coffee fan. Don't forget, fine coffee making was in it's infancy then. Think of the era: Big fin Cadillacs, poodle skirts, Elvis (Yeah!).... Thomas suggested to Giordanno the inclusion of this wand, this brass dowel, to augment the pressure, because simply put, no one had grinders, no one understood the finesse of fine coffee making. The US was inundated with....with, I'm sorry to use this word that will undoubtly make teeth gnash.....percolators....there, I said it...sorry. From percolators to the Atomic was a big step indeed. You actually had to make certain gestures.... You actually PARTICIPATED in your coffee brewing. Ever notice how singers on stage get applauded much more when they ask the audience to sing along? SAME THING. Where was I ? Ah yes....So Giordanno, wanting more sales, caved in. Bon Trading, a concern that sold more Atomics than all the other distributors combined, never wanted those. NO Atomics coming out of Australia (sent from Italy, none were ever made there) has that wand. Bon Trading or Lifeware never imported them.

SO, I have taken the task to show you, and prove to you that fantastic frothing is acheived with that group with the holes. Please go to the Forum, click on Photo area, go to the ATTOMIC section, second page, the last two pictures and on page three, the first two and enjoy. You can leave your mouse on the picture for comments, then click on it for a bigger dramatic view. No pictures have been retouched, they are done while doing breakfast, the quality is not the best but I am willing to come over to your house, free of charge, anywhere in the world to personnaly show you how it's done. You pay airfare.....first class. Fair enough?
