Water - 2007/12/04 14:32 Hello all,

I am probably missing something but... Can anyone suggest the right water to use or possibly point me in the direction for help.

I am waiting on delivery of a new Giotto Premium. The vendor suggested soft water, but I don't know what water to put in it?

Thanks kindly for any advice!

Louis

Re:Water - 2007/12/04 21:40 It totally depends on where you live.

Do not used Distilled bottled water. -It won't hurt anything mind you... just that the coffee will taste flat.

Espresso coffee NEEDS minerals in the water for the flavor components of the coffee to attach to - OR you taste nothing.
That applies to drip coffee too.

Gotta have minerals!

Mineralized bottled water is perfect -- or
filtered tap water... or Brita water...
and so on.

Re:Water - 2007/12/05 07:15 Thanks Colin.

I am in the Mississauga, Ontario and our tap water tastes terrible.

I am thinking about the Brita Pitcher System and Tap water.

Re:Water - 2007/12/05 08:43 I have some family in Oakville - the water there is pretty good. I think what you are tasting is all the chlorine - and a Brita will be perfect.

Follow the directions for any/all water filter systems EXPLICITLY folks!
-especially the filter replacement specs!
