No Coffe Coming Out :( - 2007/12/13 10:20 [b]When I refilled the machine with water I forgot to close the compartment before using the machine. So I turned on the machine and the uptake tube sucked air instead of water and now my machine isn't working? Any help out there?

Re:No Coffe Coming Out - 2007/12/13 10:34 Yes - Saeco has a nifty little plastic priming tool that looks like a mini-Turkey baster... I guess in this case... a squab baster!
You fill it with water and squirt it into the intake under the reservoir.
You could try with a really turkey baster...
but your coffee might end up tasting like gravy!

Keep us posted.

Re:No Coffe Coming Out - 2007/12/13 12:20 I wonder...should I try to do this while the machine is trying to make the espresso (after I press the star button) or while it is just turned on in idle mode? Any suggestions?

Re:No Coffe Coming Out - 2007/12/13 13:44 Try to ventilate the unit with water while it is in standby --

NOT while it is brewing.

Re:No Coffe Coming Out - 2007/12/13 13:47 The machine is not taking the water when I am squirting it with the baster, no luck The pump/compressor is still making the same loud noise that it didnt use to make before this happened. Sounds louder I guess because there is no water going through it. One thing that I do not understand is why the priming tool still has water in it? If I squeeze it water comes out. Any suggestions?

Re:No Coffe Coming Out - 2007/12/14 12:42 I'm actually kind of worried now. Perhaps I should get a repair shop to take a look at it as I am now clueless as to what I can do. Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Best,

Re:No Coffe Coming Out - 2007/12/14 15:35 This is a classic case of air-lock and all super-auto's can fall victim to it.

You could take it in for a kick start.

I would not worry too much about the vibration pump on these units - they can run "dry" without any water going through them for quite some time.

You could try "basting" it again while the
unit is in brew mode -- that is, if it will allow you to run it with the water reservoir off.

Keep us posted.

Re:No Coffe Coming Out - 2007/12/14 22:30 Hi Colin,
I have tried to baste it while in brew mode. The loud noise goes away and as I am basting it sounds like it's trying to make the coffee but nothing actually happens and then as I release the baster the noise starts again and all is still not well. Do you or anyone else out there have any idea how I could go about 'kick starting it back up' or any other suggestions that I could do to make my machine work again? I don't want to finish wrecking it but at the same time I do not have the means to pay a repair shop as the holidays do come with enough spending on their own. Thanks Again!

Re:No Coffe Coming Out - 2007/12/15 20:25 Ok.

Try priming it with the steam wand open.

Feel free to e-mail me as well.
