Backflush Disc - 2008/01/25 19:01
I guess my questions about backpressure etc. were frivolous, trivial and not up to par. Anyways. New Thread. While doing research on my Silvia on the web and I have put in many, many, many hours into this, and while looking up backflushing as I am going to use the Urnex Cafiza Powder for this purpose on my Silvia,I found on the instructions related to backflushing with the Cafiza powder, you apparently must remove your filter basket and put in a backflush disc also called a blind filter. Then of course, on this first step you put 1/2 teaspoon of the Cafiza powder into your portafilter holding this disc and begin the first step in the backflushing process. I am wondering if the backflush disc is sold separately from the powder and do you ask for it? I have not seen any backflush discs sold with the powder even though it is necessary.

Hell no.
There are no frivolous questions or issues with espresso coffee.
A simple GOOGLE of the words "Back Flush Espresso" or "Blind Filter Espresso" reveals a wealth of information.
I urge all our readers (and I am NOT singling you out Cappuccino1, honest!) to learn how to use the power of Google.
If there is something that is a little fuzzy, please SEARCH this site first and/or Google before e-mailing me. And no, it is not because I am buried with e-mail because I am not. Despite the fact that we get about 50,000 regular readers a month on the coffeecrew website, I only get about 2 or 3 coffee related e-mail a day. No. I am NOT kidding. Now don't you good people all e-mail me at the same time. I think the frequency of e-mail has dropped over the years as the site has become more complete.
best regards,
