Atomic Revelations - 2008/03/01 21:48 The real designer and inventor of The Stella Atomic was Desider Stern, an Austrian who produced and sold them there in the 50´s 60´s and 70´s. This is why the patent says Stella Wien Austria. His name Stern means Star, in Italian Stella. This was the name of the company. The Atomic was not the only model of Espresso machine he designed invented and produced, there were more than 20 models. If you want more information you can contact me.

Re:Atomic Revelations - 2008/03/02 03:16 Stella made other coffee machines, this is true and I have many pictures of them.

The label , not the patent, states Stella Wien patent. Just like other labels says: British patent or US patent, this means that a patent is held in that country or a patent has been granted. In all these countries Giordanno Robbiati is the holder of the patent. He holds patents in a few other places also. The most interesting label is the Sassoon one.

Giordanno Robbiati had it made by Stella just like he had it made under license by Sassoon by another firm. And Qualitat made it in Hungary.
Unfortunately, Dominho, your wishful thinking is just that. Josef Desider Stern does hold 4 patents for some coffee machine improvements, unfortunately none are related to the Atomic. The patents that he does hold in Austria like you claim, were taken in 1954 and whereabouts and pertain to the water tube place at the rear of a coffee maker that does not even have a boiler like the celebrated Atomic. If you owned one you would clearly understand what the hoopla is about.
