gaggia classic shower head screw stuck - 2006/03/07 20:32 Maybe somebody can help me out?

The shower head of my gaggia classic machine really needs proper cleaning. However when I tried to unscrew the head the screw made no movement at all. My enthusiasm damaged the screw a bit, but not completely (screw is very soft). Somebody had this problem and could comment about it and help unscrew the shower head? Do I have to drill a hole in it?

Thanks in advance

Re:gaggia classic shower head screw stuck - 2006/03/08 00:58 You must use the correct screwdriver to avoid damaging it -

It is more robust than you think.

Try this (and be CAREFUL) -

Let the unit heat up to MAXIMUM temperature -- 20 minutes
or so.
Put on some gloves.
Try it now.

the heat expansion may help some.

Re:gaggia classic shower head screw stuck - 2006/05/16 10:29 take a socket wrench with a philips head socket. Put the gaggia on its back and hole the socket wrench at the joint and push in while you turn it. That solved my problem. Have to do it everytime I clean tho (every week) as this screw has a mind of its own and does not want to come out for a bath.

Good luck
