Breville BCG450XL conical burr grinder. - 2007/04/13 00:04
PRO: I'm quite impressed by the quality of the Breville BCG450XL conical burr grinder. Paid 99 $CA in Montréal for it. A steal in my opinion. It has a modern, clean and attractive metallic design. I find this machine absolutely perfect. It's silent, solid, and most of all, offers a very consistent grind due to its adjustable conical burrs. It has a burst button for manual operation, and a 10 to 30 sec timer to set and forget if you prefer automatic grinding. Best of all is that it operates virtually STATIC FREE (no coffee flying around with this baby). There is no need to hold the lids down during operation and there is no machine walking off the counter due to vibrations as I found with some other brands I tried in stores (i.e. Bodum, Capresso.) The 15 grinding positions are precise, well defined and easily adjustable. Cleaning the removable burr is very easy. This grinder makes a perfect press, filter, espresso, or turkish. Just for its low humming noise, high quality, sturdiness, start and forget operation, and easy cleaning makes it a 10/10 for me. Do I recommend this Australian made machine? You bet. CON: None so far.
