portafilter gasket... a silly question - 2008/02/04 10:57 While reaserching backflushing last night on the web I encountered websites that mentioned that one should change the portafilter gasket every 6 months or so.
I spent some time on the web looking to see if the portafilter gasket is in the portafilter and how it looks like. I found the gasket ,even the Rancilio ones on the web and how they look like but for the life of me I could not confirm from the research exactly where the portafilter gasket is. I assume since there is mention of the portafilter that it is in the portafilter and I looked on my Rancilio portafilter and I did not see a gasket anywhere. My research led to the fact that there also is what is called a grouphead gasket and I am wondering if this is what is called a portafilter gasket or is it that there are two different gaskets, a portafilter gasket and a grouphead gasket?

This question must sound juvenile or eevn frivolous but I would love to be set straight.
