New Rocky - adjustment probs - 2008/02/12 19:45 I just bought a new Rocky doser. It was set on 10 at the factory. This setting worked really good but there was room to tweak, I thought. I adjusted 3 notches fine to 7 just to see if better or not. Not much difference. I then put it back on 10. Next shot pulled in about 12 seconds, just poured through.
Readjusted back to 7 but still too coarse and coffee running to fast. tried 6 and same prob. NOW I dared go 1 notch finer to 5 and all hell broke loose, extremely noisy like maybe the burrs were touching. (I have never heard burrs touch before).
As I switched it off and the grinder was slowing down it sounded like a clang clang clang clang, plus a few more clangs as though something was hitting some particular metal part as it was slowing down.
With the exact same beans, same day and same setting of 10 on another Rocky I had great results.
Anyone else ever have a similar prob?
