LaPiccola Sara POD system
We review the La Piccola Sara POD system
Coffee. Espresso. Cappuccino. Latte. These are magic words for over 1/2 the population of the planet Earth. For 500 years, this hot beverage has been the most popular method of caffeine consumption. Coffee is, after all, the number two most popular item of trade (next to oil). It employs millions of families, some in less than ideal working and living conditions.

The goal of the CoffeeCrew website is to educate and inform; to help you, the readers, have a better specialty coffee experience at home or in the office.

We are a non-commercial resource - this means we make commercial recommendations but we do NOT sell anything. Introducing you to new and classic methods of brewing coffee, espresso and other specialty coffee beverages and, at the same time, raising your level of awareness on how this marvelous bean makes its way from the farmers field to your cup.

This website is an educational resource for consumers of specialty coffee. In between all the tutorials and gear reviews, we try to get in one important message: That cup of coffee you are about to enjoy had a long journey from the farmers fields to your cup. Thanks to the advent of the internet, coffee can now have a more meaningful journey to your cafe or home - and benefit the farms and coops even more - cutting out the middle man.

Picture at right - The 2008 Seasonal Buyers Guide is coming together - You have waited all year and it is almost time for the CoffeeCrew.Com seasonal buyers guide to all things coffee and espresso - part one is here! The overall report is going to be huge and we will have you screaming with delight! We will have some bonus reviews including the LaPiccola Sara POD system - Dual Boiler.

In fact, the average bean changes hands about 100 times before it makes its way into your double-tall decaf latte. 12 - 15 million families work, often under adverse conditions and low pay, to get you your daily fix. Keep that in mind as you take your first sips of the day.

So. Welcome to the least commercial coffee and espresso website on the net, guaranteed! We have a few suggested vendors (who have a time honored track record of customer support) who have given us, pretty much, open access to their inventory. If you are wondering, this is a not-for-profit consumer resource for coffee drinkers. We take in just enough ad revenue to just barely cover hosting expenses so, no - and we do not sell anything.

Coming up - In our next series "The Bodum Lifestyle" - we play with and review all things Bodum; French presses, Stove-top espresso makers, Tea pots and coffee grinders. Thanks to Bodum-USA for the sponsorship!

New Directions - We are expanding a bit and will be looking at more commercial equipment; roasters, espresso machines and cafe tools as time permits - to broaden our reader base and serve you better!

Hawaii - The CoffeeCrew team will be in Kona, Hawaii and Oahu this Christmas 2008 and New Years 2009! If you have a great cafe or roastery and would like us to stop in, please send us an e-mail!
